This is a shirt I designed for PCS Food Service Warehouse. I learned how to use the ellipse tool as well the arc tool to arc my writing up or down. You can see I used that for the PCS. My white circle is 4 strokes which I believe is both sleek and bold on the black background. I really enjoy the design because of how the font essentiates formality. This was a great learning experience for me.
This is my shirt design for PHS IT CTE program. We were given a criteria to work with and I tried to be creative with it. I exclusively used the pen tool because we need vector art for the shirts. It was weird making shirts for Petaluma High School but it was relatively simple to do the project. The logo projects really prepared me well for this customer project.
We were given a different criteria for the PHS shirts so I remade mine. They wanted the word "is" between PHS and IT CTE. My previous design would not work too well for the new criteria so I changed my design completely. I decided to put the globe on the left instead of the center because of the extra word. I thought about putting the four words into a block format but I decided to use my only color, black, to incorporate I.T. into the shirt. While I could have put a back design for the shirt, I decided that nothing would really fit with what is on the front of the shirt. This also allowed me to make the wrenches overlap each other. It is always fun doing a customer project.
This was our project for Paradise Dental. This was more of a real life project rather than a project we would just do in class. For the logo they wanted green and since their name is Paradise Dental I went with palm trees and hammock. Instead of forest green I went with a sea green and orange to give a more relaxed feel to it. This was a fun and tough project because I had to use a lot of the pen tool for the trees. I even used the line segment tool for this project. I was happy that my design made the cut for team A.
This was the Casa box lunch project that was done on both Illustrator and Photoshop. That is what made this project so fun to do is that this was the first time I really got to do the same project on both Illustrator and Photoshop. I did the text in Illustrator and then went over to Photoshop to edit the gaucho horse and put it with the text. I went very simple with this project because I didn't feel like they wanted a design that was so complex. I though simple would be best. I chose an odd font but had to edit the C's so that it would be the way that I liked it. I had to go back into Photoshop to put yellow outline around it.
This is the design I came up with for the Link Crew poster. Instead of going with a gaucho I went with a picture of Zorro and used the pen tool to completely outline it all. I actually had a lot of fun on this project and the project was relatively easy. They wanted two colors so I added the yellow over white or another color so that I could get at least one of our school colors in there.
This was the shirt I created for McDowell superhero project. It was pretty cool and relatively simple. Just some pen tool and text tool placed onto a black shirt. There was not much creativity for this project but it was easy enough for me to get through it. Mr. Meirik helped me with the text and pen tool fixes but that was the only trouble I went through. This one was short and sweet.
This is my design for my Link Crew Shirt. There was not much creativity involved in this but I expect that is what it is if this was your career. You would not get to do exactly what you want. You always have to follow the customer. For the images I did Live Trace then Live Paint, or vice versa. I don't really remember. I used the paint tool for the color and the type tool for the text. This was very much a "cookie cutter" project.
For the Casa Grande Booster Club I went with a familiar design for several reasons. For one, I think it fits everything that the Booster Club is trying to accomplish. Also, I think that this logo is very cool and needs to get a second look. I really felt that this logo fit well with this project, but I did have to make a few changes. I reflected the image and removed the sword so instead of being Zorro, it is a Gaucho. I made the color green so it would look good on the merchandise they sell. I also changed the font to Bakefield. It is just the font I was looking for. I wanted something fancy but not pretentious. I thought it was a good mix and gave off that business casual vibe I wanted.
This is my design for E9Design. I wanted to change it up and make it more traditional but we needed two colors. This was the first time I used Helvetica font as I am usually not a big fan of Helvetica. However, I believe it was perfect for this shirt. I don't think I incorporated the colors to well but that is not what I am really good at. On the back I put We Do Art because I felt they needed a simple few-worded slogan to catch potential customers. I am starting to like Helvetica just a little bit more.
